The Kiekari:  the sacred Huichol territory of Mexico’s western Sierra Madre and northern highlands which includes parts of the states of Nayarit, Jalisco, Durango, Zacatecas, and San Luis Potosi. For more information about the Kiekari, see under 'The Huichols', in the left margin menu.
 
 
The Kiekari spans the pilgrimage route between San Blas on the Pacific Ocean and Wirikuta at its eastern end in the Chihuahua desert. This mythological trek from Haramara to Wirikuta is the constitutional basis for kiekari.
